Hi. Irving Schechter was my grandfather. I was very interested to see and hear about what you have( so was my family, in particular his daughter.) Irving died in 1962, but we would appreciate any information and photos you have on him. Thank you.
I found this forum, searching for more Irving Schecter. I acquired a moving box of old clothing for $1 at a flea market, that happened to be filled with wonderful vintage clothing, hats, hat boxes, and belts. My favorite piece is an Irving Schecter blazer, that has amazing details. I wanted to learn more about the designer and attempt to determine what year, or time frame, it was created. I know the I.S. was producing these jackets between the 1930s and 1960s. If anyone has more information, please point me in the right direction.
