Opening Tuesday, December 9 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is an exhibit of jewelry by famed artist Alexander Calder. While Calder is best known for his mobiles, he also produced about 1800 unique pieces of brass, silver, and gold jewelry. The exhibit will feature about 90 pieces, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, and tiaras. The exhibit runs through March 1, 2009.Want to own your own piece of Calder jewelry? We saw the "Calder: the Paris Years" exhibit at the MOMA when we were there in October. It was fabulous! I'd love to see this one too, but alas have no travel to NY planned...
