On Friday, I asked my Facebook fans what they'd like to see on the blog this week. Monique wanted to see something fun from the late 60s. How about these Paris couture showstoppers from the spring of 1969? Fun indeed! Thank you for the inspiration, Monique!

Courreges metal bikinis that ended his runway show.

Pierre Cardin sheer jumpsuit with giant colorful dots.

Ungaro sheer pants and cape with pink loopy bows paired with a metal bra and belt.

Courreges mini coat in a graphic red and white print.

Pierre Cardin mini dress made of silver metal disks.

those are all amazing! thanks for brightening my morning!
It's snowing here. These made me smile too!
Showstoppers indeed and so much fun! The sheer jumpsuit is radiant.
It's the Courreges coat that does it for me.
I love the innovation and daring in these. We tend to forget that people like Lady Gaga and Nicky Minah didn't invent outrageous dressing - it's been around for 40+ years at least!
metal bikinis?????
Love them! Thank you so much :) You've made my day! I WANT the sheer pants and cape (not that I have the bod to go with them) or the red graphic coat. WANT!
PS: It snowed here last night too. I thought it was supposed to be Spring?!
Sheila, you are so right. Remember Carmen Miranda? She was hot 70 years ago!
Glamoursurf - I knew you'd like those Pam! They were just for show on the runway, but wouldn't you just love to own one?
Monique - I thought the bold sheerness mixed with the cutesy bows was really fun on that set!
