Jacques Fath was considered one of the most important influences in post-war Parisian couture. These suits and dresses are all from his line for Spring 1950. Fath was a superb tailor and I covet one of his garments for my collection. Which is your favorite?

I love the neckline in the first picture! Interesting details like that are a big reason I enjoy vintage clothes so much.

Jacques Fath was a very special designer. I featured him on my blog...

WOW on that top suit.
Wow Fairy! That scarf was a beauty!
I adore the first suit!

oooohhhh! I love this post sooooo much! Thank you for the inspiration photos! I would love to make a dress like the 3rd photo and a jacket like the 1st one!
I love it too. I have to wonder if I found it on a hanger if I would have figured out to tie the sashes before buttoning them. Sometimes designer vintage presents puzzles like that.
The dress would have likely puzzled me too. Looking at the photo, it makes perfect sense but I would have probably put it on the mannequin backwards...at least to start.
That one with the dramatic back made me gasp out loud! I would love to find that. It is absolutely stunning..and it would show off my tattoo! ;)
