Weekend Eye Candy - Greta Garbo 1929

Greta Garbo in her 11th film, "Wild Orchids", from 1929. Here she wears a coat trimmed in lush racoon fur and a cloche hat. Adrian is listed as the costume designer for the film. The film is not available on Netflix, so I'm going to have to find another way to see it!

Gorgeous! Now THAT is some fur trim. What a magnificent jacket.

I'm not so big on fur, but that hat sure caught my eye. There's a milliner named Behida Dohlic who's making hats that look a lot like that one. Sweet pic! Garbo's face is always gorgeous.

Wow, what an amazing time in fashion.

There is a fabulous book that was published just a few years ago called Jazz Age Beauties: The Lost Collection of Ziegfield Photographer Alfred Cheney Johnson. If you've never seen it, it's worth perusing. My god, the clothes. It's really something.

Greta Garbo is amazing. When I was 13, I kept a diary and addressed entry to "Dear Ms. Garbo." I was obsessed with her, as you can imagine!
