Meet Jen Miller, freelance writer and author of

Down the Shore with Jen. Jen is a lover of vintage clothing and has been a frequent customer of Couture Allure since finding me on Twitter. She wore this sweet 1960s dress to a recent book signing in Avalon, NJ. Doesn't she look fabulous in orange? Jen, this color makes your skin positively glow!
Jen grabbed this vintage 50s dress during my recent Last Chance Sale and I've got to say, she makes it come alive! This dress is going to work hard in Jen's wardrobe all summer long and I know she'll think of a million ways to accessorize it. Thanks Jen!

Thanks Jody!
I wonder if you can help me, Jody! As a very tall lady, I have real challenges finding vintage dresses that even come close to fitting. In fact, I often resort to making them from vintage patterns! However, I'd love to know if you have resources for lanky gals like me. Jen looks marvelous in her dresses and I'm as green as I can be when I think of just actually BUYING a dress, rather than chaining myself to my Singer and "whipping something up!" I'd kill for a pair of Kay Thompson's Fancy Pants!
Love, Kay
Kay there are vintage dresses out there made specifically for long waisted figures. Sometimes the label will even say "Tall Gal" or just "Tall". You want to look for a long shoulder to waist measurement, at least 17". If you do a search on my website for tall, you'll find a couple of dresses.
