Madame Alix Gres takes a simple red silk evening gown and makes it fabulous with huge fan pleated sleeves. Most of the volume in the sleeves billows out at the back of the dress.
The dress dates to somewhere between 1945-55. Fabulous, no?

Yes! Thanks for the eye candy.
That's about the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen--wow!
Oh how you have literally brightened my week with this shot!
I am a huge fan of Grès, and have a slim monograph on her. Love the book's photography but most is in B&W. Her dresses hold their own, of course, but there is NOTHING like seeing them in color.
For any interested parties, the book is Grès by Laurence Benaim.
Sweet mother of pearl that is gorgeous! I could look at it all day. I want everything I own to have bulbous accordion sleeves. Thank you for posting this lovely.
